Lash Extension's Aftercare

DURING THE FIRST 24 HOURS STAY AWAY FROM :
• Spray tan or airbrush tanning
• Exposure to excessive steam and heat (saunas or hot showers)
• Avoid getting your lashes wet during the first 24 hours
• Do not let cosmetic or skincare products come into contact with the extensions within 24 hours of application if possible

HERMOSA LASH TIPS FOR LASH EXTENSIONS THAT LAST:
• Try to sleep on your back, if possible. Sleeping with your face pushed into your pillow can cause your extensions to fall out quicker.
• Comb lashes regularly with a clean makeup wand. This will keep the extensions looking fresh and helps avoid them criss-crossing or getting tangled.
• Do not curl your lashes. They are designed with a natural curl that will maintain their shape and lift. A lash curler will risk damaging the lash extension and disrupt the bond with your natural lash.
• We advise you to not wear mascara on your lash extensions as it is difficult to remove and can damage the natural quality and feel of the lashes.
• Always use oil-free makeup remover as oil can break down the adhesive bond causing the extensions to fall off quicker.
• If a lash extension looks out of place avoid playing with it, twisting, or pulling it off. You’ll risk pulling out your natural lash with the extension.
• Do not use cotton on your lash extensions. The fibers can get stuck to the extensions and is very difficult to remove.
• Do not air dry your extensions if they get wet or after a shower. Use a dryer on a low cool setting or a fan to dry them. We recommend using a small hand held fan to dry your lashes . Brush out with a mascara wand, only after the lashes have finished drying.
• We encourage clients to clean lash extensions daily with a cleanser that is approved safe for your eyes and your lash extensions. We have lash cleanser available for purchase at Hermosa Lash studio or you can make your own at home with our formula

AT-HOME LASH CLEANER
⅔ Part Distilled Water
⅓ Part Johnson’s Baby Shampoo
Small empty foam pump bottle dispenser
Mix the water and shampoo in the foam pump bottle (available at Hermosa Lash Studio). Apply 1-2 pumps of foam using your fingers or a clean makeup brush. Gently cleanse the lashes and eyelid to remove makeup and residue. Rinse with water. Use a dryer or small handheld fan on a low cool setting to dry off your lash extensions. Brush your lashes with a mascara wand after the lashes are dry.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Lash Extension Service's FAQ
Are Lash Extensions Safe?
Yes, eyelash extensions are safe, hypoallergenic, and waterproof. They are also safe for clients who wear contact lenses. It is important that you only have your extensions done by a certified lash stylist with quality products. At Hermosa Lash we use Sugarlash Pro lash extensions.
What kind of lashes are right for me ?
You will have a consultation at the beginning of your appointment to discuss lash types and the desired look that you want for your lashes. We take into consideration the amount of lashes that you currently have, as well as the length and strength of your lashes. We will create a custom look tailored to your eye shape and preference. We use premium quality faux mink lashes from Sugarlash Pro on all of our clients.
Will I feel the lash extensions ?
No, lash extensions will feel just like your natural lashes
What should I do prior to my appointment?
Be sure to arrive to your appointment without eye makeup on. Do not curl your lashes the day of your appointment. If you wear contacts, we recommend wearing your glasses to the appointment. Try to avoid drinking caffeine within a few hours of the appointment as this can cause your lashes to flutter making application more difficult.
I am a new client and already have lash extension on. Do I need to make an appointment for a fill or for a new full set ?
New clients coming with lash extensions from another salon, a new full set is required. You will receive an in-depth consultation and provided plenty of time with your lash artist to ensure that we are giving you the best quality results we can.
How do I make my lash extensions last as long as possible ?
You can ensure the longevity of your eyelash extensions by avoiding oil based makeup or makeup remover. Eyeliner pencils have a tendency to be oil-based. Cleaning your lashes daily will help increase their lifespan help keep the lash line free of makeup This also will help remove any dirt or oil which tend to disintegrate the adhesives used on the extensions. Try to avoid excessive mascara, rubbing of eyes, picking or pulling on extended eyelashes. Chemical treatment such as eyelash tinting or perming will weaken adhesive bonds and results in premature eyelashes extensions loss.
Can I have my lash extensions removed ?
Yes, if you want to take a break from your lash extensions you can schedule an appointment to come in and have your lashes removed. We recommend having them removed by a professional, as we have products that are used to break the bonds from the glue to remove the lash extensions safely without damaging your natural lashes.
How often do I need to get my lashes filled ?
Your lashes go through a normal shedding cycle every few weeks, which is why fills are required. We recommend getting your lashes filled every 2-3 weeks to keep your lashes looking their best. Lash fills help remove outgrown lashes and replace lashes that have shed, restoring your lashes to their beautiful original set style. Clients who are more active including those who participate in hot yoga, swimmers, or women with naturally oily skin, may need to come in for their refills a bit sooner (2 weeks).
What's your cancellation policy ?
1. Cancellation must be made 48 hours before your appointment date/time on the booking system "Booksy" or contact me.

2. If cancellation is made less than 48 hours from your appointment date/time, the remaining balance of your service will be charged.

3. In case of No-Show, 100 perfect of the service price will be charged.
Microblading/Sandy Brows/Microshading/Combo Brow Service's FAQ
How long does the microblading procedure takes?
90-120 minutes. 4-6 weeks touch-up takes about 90 minutes.
What is the healing process like?
Slightly sore for about first 24 hours. You will be able to get back to work looking like you had a perfect waxed brows. Aftercare oilment and instructions included.
What is Microblading ?
Microblading is a relatively new, manual method. It is considered to be semi-permanent, as compared to the traditional hair stroke technique. It is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Because we’re impacting color closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine.

This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. People suffering from alopecia or any other condition that causes hair loss benefit greatly from Microblading, as well as people who simply aren't happy with their eyebrows.

The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow color, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow. Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over a two week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment.
What is Microblading + Shading ?
Microblading shading is a similar but separate technique when compared to microblading.

Microblading is the art of placing strokes into the eyebrow area in an attempt to make the brows look more "real".

Microblading shading is a complementary procedure that is often done in combination with microblading, but it results in a completely different look.

Microblading shading is a "stipling" technique where the microblade is pushed directly down against the skin (as opposed to pulling or dragging the microblade across your skin).

The result is a beautiful stipling of the eyebrow which creates a powder-filled result.

Eyebrows that have been shaded often look like you have your make-up on 24/7.
What is the Ombre Eyebrow Tattoo ?
Instead of creating hair strokes eyebrow like Microblading, this shading and blending technique will create an ombre effect from the beginning of the brow to the end starting from light and fading to dark, give your brow the sharp yet natural look.
How long does Microblading last?
The pigment used in this procedure is semi-permanent, therefore the procedure typically lasts up to 12 months or longer. Because of the unique qualities of each individual’s skin and lifestyles, we are unable to guarantee how long your results will last. You will likely need a touchup within 6-24 months.
How is the Microblading procedure performed?
The procedure is done using a hand tool, with a prepackaged, sterile, single use “blade” made up of a grouping of needles that are 3x smaller than the needles that would be used in a tattoo machine. With the appropriate amount of pressure, the skin is scored and the pigment is deposited into the epidermis (outermost layer of skin). Think paper-cuts!
How long is does the Microblading procedure take?
Your first appointment will take about 3 hours, Your second appointment (4-6 week touch up) will take about 1.5 hours.
Will I need a touch-up?
Yes, we recommend 6-8 weeks touch-up to complete a perfect brows. There might be a few strokes that might reject pigment, it needs to be implanted more pigment to those areas.
Is this the same as tattoo?
A form of tattoo but not permanent. It is semi-permanent for natural look, it is not done as deep into the dermis as traditional tattoos.
How do I pick the brow shape I want?
We choose the shape of your new brows together. Whether you are just looking to enhance the fullness of your natural brow, or create a whole new shape, we will take it one step at a time. Your new shape will be applied with a cosmetic pencil first so that you can see how it will look your face. We will not start the procedure until you are happy with what we have created.
I have no brows; can I still get this procedure?
Absolutely, this is a great option for those who suffer from Alopecia, Trichotillomania, or have been through Chemotherapy. Microblading can even correct past wax catastrophe, over tweezing, or the normal hair thinning that occurs post menopause.
Why do I need a touch up if this is semi-permanent ?
Because color is implanted in the facial area there tends to be more fluid circulation than other parts of the body. Your face sees the most wear of any piece of you—exposure to the sun, food, facial products—the list goes on and on. All of these things cause permanent color to fade, this is why you need a touch up.
I'm pregnant, can I get this procedure?
Sorry mom, due to your susceptibility to excessive bleeding, we do not recommend this procedure for you.
Can I choose the shape and the color?
You will have the opportunity to discuss shape and color with the cosmetic tattoo artist. In proposing a design for you, we will take into consideration your age, personality, current use of makeup, daily activities, and the color and undertones of the skin. The artist will also take into consideration the shape of your lips, structure of your brow bone, or curvature of your eyelid before creating the shape outline. Once the design has been simulated, you will need to approve before the tattooing occurs.
Will my eyebrow hair continue to grow?
Yes. To maintain the shape of the tattoo we recommend tweezing, threading, or electrolysis to remove any hairs that grow outside of your tattoo pattern. We advise you to refrain from waxing.
Are the pigments safe?
Specially formulated pigments have been created for the face and this is all we use. Our pigment selections are of the highest grade and quality that undergo strict testing and regulations.
I have a darker complexion, is the procedure ideal for me?
Yes! Permanent cosmetics are beneficial for all skin types, and all ages. In fact, we love working on that gorgeous darker complexion as the skin responds beautifully.
Does age matter?
No! We have a wide range of clients, and some that are in there 80’s. The only restriction by law is that you must be 18 years of age. However, we prefer that you are over 25 before making this decision to have cosmetic tattooing on your face, unless it is for medical reasons. We have found this extremely beneficial for seniors due to dexterity and steadiness. We want everyone to feel beautiful!
Do you shave the eyebrow before you do an eyebrow procedure?
No, all your hair is left in place. Any excess hair that is outside of the new design pattern will be removed (unless you prefer they are left in place).
I don't have any eyebrow hair at all - will this look fake?
No, the 3D Permanent Hairstroke Brows are meant to look as real as possible. Each individual stroke resembles an eyebrow hair, so the result is a realistic permanent brow. Hair stroke permanent brows, look much more real than the pencil you may be applying.
Do microblading or permanent cosmetic procedures hurt?
I do my best to keep you comfortable and relaxed by my light touch, and topical numbing agents. Most of my clients say “oh, that wasn’t bad, and much easier than I expected”. Each person’s pain tolerance plays a role as well as stress levels which can increase the intensity. If you are a woman on your cycle, this will also play a role. We recommend that you take Tylenol prior to the procedure and drink plenty of water to have your skin well hydrated. Do not take Motrin, Aspirin or any type of blood thinners prior to a procedure.
Are there any restrictions to having these procedures?
Yes, there can be some medical issues that may prevent us from working on you, however this is rare.
If you are a diabetic, you must be in a controlled state, and your healing time may take longer.
If you have glaucoma, you cannot have an eyeliner procedure.
If you have a history of cold sores, then you must be on a prescribed medication before, during and after any lip procedure.
If you are on blood thinners or fish oil, you must be off from these for 2 weeks prior.
If you are on a retin A or Accutane product, you must be off of these for 3 months.
If you use Latisse, or eye lash enhancers, you must be off these for 2 months prior to an eyeliner procedure.
If you have had cosmetic surgery on your face, you must be healed at least 3 months.
If you have cancer, you must be 6 months past your last chemotherapy.
There are no restrictions with Botox of the eyes, or forehead area. In some rare instances of asymmetry, we may request you have Botox prior to your brows.
If you have lip fillers, you must be healed at least 6 weeks for a lip procedure.
If you are pregnant or nursing, you are not able to get a tattoo.
If you have prior tattooing that was not done by us you need to schedule a consultation.
